Week 2 of the Big Bash League

Week 2 of the Big Bash League will be remembered purely for the innings of two players who guided their teams to victory. Shaun Marsh – on return following a back injury – smashed 99 not out in the Perth Scorchers win over the Melbourne Renegades while Chris Gayle for the Sydney Thunder smashed the most sixers in twenty 20 history in Australia on his way to 100 not out against the Strikers. In the other two games over the week, the Hurricanes defeated the Sixers while the Melbourne Stars aided by Shane Warne defeated the Brisbane Heat in Brisbane.
